KNUT kaputt

Dear readers, we finally learned that the unbearable bear Knut is dead. Can you imagine what was the reaction to the news that drafting of the odious plantigrade has stretched its legs. Oh, sorry. And what a cute teddy bear here ... and that sweet puppy there ... you're cracked, eh, Knut shit.
are not known, the causes of premature death, premature so to speak, but the despicable mammal coincide with the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy feeds the suspicion that perhaps some patriot who has not forgotten other bears well most admirable and brave, decided to make him pay.
Let us hope so and that those bloody orsicidi the Germans understand that a nation suffers when they die their bears.

Dear comrades and friends,

We are spreading along with the invitation to the Lecture and Debate "Leocadia Prestes - Mother Courage" (in the next five Mondays in ridden people), the emotional and combative text Lygia Prestes depicting the life course (little known today) of Leocadia, expression of a time of significant victories in the struggle against imperialism, against capitalist exploitation, against fascism and in advance of the revolution and the experiences of socialist construction.

think it important to read and dissemination of the text in the example of courage and struggle of this woman who, among other activities, has been leading an international campaign for the liberation of Luiz Carlos Prestes and other political prisoners in the 1930 Brazilian and faced the Gestapo (Nazi police) to rescue his granddaughter Anita, daughter of Olga and Prestes Benario. His courage and dedication serve as a stimulus to the revolutionary struggle in the context of today.

ridden people's activity is also a tribute to women Brazil, in the month of International Women's Day, rescuing the spirit in which it was launched a day of homage to the struggles of women - unlike as has been trivialized and "marketed" this time.

ask your cooperation in spreading the activity and the text of Lygia Prestes. Follow the links from the pages of the site's ridden people, poster and text:

Greetings, Marco Antonio

Photo Leocadia's funeral in 1943, Mexico:

"On June 18, 1943, held the funeral, which turned into a genuine popular manifestation. The procession crossed the whole city by foot, the Tacubaya hills, where stood the cemetery. The coffin, covered with the Brazilian flag, was carried on shoulders and surrounded by an honor guard carrying the flags of all United Nations at that time were engaged in the fight against Nazism. In brink of the grave, several speakers were heard, including representatives from other Latin American countries like Cuba, Uruguay, Chile and also from countries Europeans, mainly Germans and Spaniards. The great Chilean poet Pablo Neruda read his poem "Elegy Dura [read, click ], written especially for that sad moment in which he defines the importance of the life of Leocadia Prestes with these simple words: "Señora, Hiciste big, bad big, nuestra America ...". Action Dilemmas of Latin American Critical Thought:
Development, State, Social Movements.

Call for Papers

25, 26 and 27 August, Córdoba, Argentina

The current national, international and Latin American calls us to reflect. All around innumerable conflicts are evident in the global economic system, since the sovereign debt crises with a focus on Europe (shortly after the crisis of the global financial system with its epicenter in the U.S.) to the riots that are irrigated by Africa and Middle East. On the other hand, we can not fail to mention that ten years from the days of 19 and 20 December 2001, it is unavoidable to discuss what aspects of political, economic and social expose breaks or continuities with previous employers.
Meanwhile, what has to say as a Science of Political Economy, on these milestones in the history of Argentina and global? Can you let go of the strings that the prevailing order has thrown up, the prejudices of degraded doctrine we are taught at the Universities of the obstacles faced by social movements while playing as workers / s and develop a liberating consciousness? And yet, if political economy is able to collaborate on something with the emergence of a growing portion of the / these workers of the world is made of means to survive, what is to be provided: policies for development, alternative development, or a paradigm shift about what is development? What should actors and other related sciences of political economy, to move conceptually toward a theory that allows us to understand and transform our reality?
The Fourth Meeting of Economic Criticism (JEC) proposes to consolidate the space for discussion open past 5 years, for students, graduates / os, teachers, researchers and professionals in economics and social sciences to reflect, discuss and interpret reality. Our intention to address the whole spectrum of thought and social action, political and economic critics, combining the theoretical aspects of each discipline with the dynamics of social organizations.
The JEC has had significant growth since its first edition in 2007 in La Plata, through the organization of the Fourth International Symposium SEPLA in 2008, the JEC II in 2009 in Bahia Blanca, the National Discussion Meeting Plans study in 2010 in Mar del Plata, whose most recent stage III were the JEC in Rosario in 2010-as well as numerous activities carried out by each regional organizer. However, the greatest success of this forum for analysis, discussion and training pluralistic and open the wealth resides in their exchanges, on the strength of their criticisms and contributions to the Social Sciences and enthusiasm who have helped build hundreds of participants in meetings and discussions in these years, "summarized in more than 600 people attended the last JEC and the 180 works presented there," joined the growing number of people voluntarily commit their organization and dissemination.
Indeed, the JEC intend to continue opening new horizons and avenues for Political Economy in an area where the prevailing orthodoxy (in academia and in educational institutions) aims crammed ahistoricity, single, monolithic thinking, tools that do little to explain the reality and act on it. Today we are on track into a true network of economists critical to work to transcend (in time and space) constraints facing our country and continent in the development of political economy as science.
The JEC IV will take place at the Faculty of Economics, National University of Córdoba (Avenida Valparaíso s / n Ciudad Universitaria). On Thursday 25, Friday 26 and Saturday August 27, 2011, from 9:00 to 20:00. approximately, is open for discussion several instances, among which include panels for papers, open tables, workshops and special activities such as Days past.
As always, we invite especially young students or recent graduates-whose contributions often forgotten-orthodoxy, to submit their ideas, work and / or undergraduate or graduate theses and (of course) to participate in all areas of debate.
The JEC is free and open to anyone who wants to participate. Will present certificates of attendance and exposure. The regional organizers are responsible for providing transportation cost from the various cities. Later dealojamiento alternatives also communicate in Cordoba.
All available information will be published in jornadaseconomiacritica.blogspot.com. For any questions or suggestions, write ajornadaseconomiacritica@gmail.com.

"As sovereign countries, tenemos el derecho a whole pelear nuestras lucha", Manuel Zelaya Rosales

continues viva.Vejam Honduras Manuel Zelaya's statements claiming their struggle for reinstatement of Cuba the OAS after years of shameful expulsion of the Cuban revolution of this body. It also justifies their integration into the ALBA and its approach to the "socialism of the South" as he calls the schemes da Venezuela, Bolivia and Equador.

From the desk of José Manuel Zelaya R.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic January 30, 2011

The notorious in diplomatic cables from the imperial ambassadors is to be taken so seriously, the mission " interpret "benefit from the things we do in other countries. Confusing ending the day with night, black with white, and generally any attitude that is adverse.

'll never understand the right, the continent as sovereign countries, we have every right to fight our battles, with the prospect of success, and that we precisely to the nullification of the resolutions against Cuba in San Pedro Sula, and our openness to socialism in the south.

The resolutions of the OAS, in Honduras, in favor of the Cuban revolution, and my accession to ALBA, were victories, because every one of them was the possibility of getting closer to Latin America for justice and freedom which deserves the Honduran people.

Sponsor the annulment of the resolutions of 1962, nor the Cuban people or their leaders, in their magnificent dignity, we were asked, - this was entirely an initiative of Honduras, and certainly not the American empire was interested. Had to overcome all these difficulties for a long 2 years, to accompany us and can attest, the SG: José Miguel Insulza, like all American foreign ministers

-Cancellation took place a few days before the coup State of Honduras - was a correct history of this generation. On an error, a crime committed by other people, the government made four decades ago, which filled with shame our people, when, without justification, as was demonstrated in SPS-ousted the country's heroic Martí, Maceo Fidel and the "Rio Treaty" and the Organization of American States.

Nothing more, nothing less can be said of that historic event.

not understand the rights, of Washington, that with them the business relationship is strictly business, with the Latin American brothers build the future society. We see up close the permanent manipulation of these people who already demonstrated time and again that it is easier to silence the truth to let me return to my village.

Men our actions define us, in that sense, leave it to the history and peoples of Latin America the trial of my facts and my ideas, of which I am deeply proud.

Use Voltage Regulator For Boat

YET ON THE OPEN LETTER TO FHC. SOME CLARIFICATIONS AFTER ELECTION OF PASSION.

RECEIVED HUNDREDS OF COMMUNICATIONS ON MY OPEN LETTER TO FERNANDO HENRIQUE CARDOSO. MANY (MOST) favorable. FULL OF OTHER OFFENSES RIDICULOUS. OTHER ISSUES THAT WERE TRYING TO CLARIFY SOME EXPLAINED. CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN THESE HIGHLIGHTS JUST SENT BY ORLANDO LIMA. Seeking OBJECTIONS TO RESPOND BECAUSE ME SEEMED HONEST. It REGRETTABLE BUT SEE THE AMOUNT OF TEACHERS OF ECONOMICS TO KNOW MY WORK AND TO ONE WHO SENT ME ON HOW COULD COSELHOS MONITOR THE WORLD ECONOMIC SITUATION citing magazine INTERESTING LARGE DIFFUSION AS THE ECONOMIST. Would be comical if I WERE NOT THE EXPRESSION LEVEL OF COLLEGES OF OUR ECONOMY IN GENERAL AND THE BOYCOTT OUR THOUGHT YOU SUFFER IN ACADEMIA BRASILEIRA.

Dear Orlando

You always put important issues honestly and deserves my attention because it is a rarity.
But let us establish the issue of so-called corruption. Corruption is the use or misuse of public resources for the benefit of private equity, however this difference is defined by law and not by the importance of resources. However, laws and mechanisms for their interpretation are controlled by exactly the greatest beneficiaries of public resources. For example: last fiscal responsibility law, presented as a case exemplr to fight corruption, if a governor intended 1 million dollars to build a school without having the necessary resources, creating a debt not covered, el can go to jail, according to law. However, seven leaders of the Central Bank may decide to increase the interest rate paid by the government not defined in percentages with no existing source of income, thereby increasing public spending drastically at about 10 billion reais and simply force the government to decrease spending dedicated to our poor public education, health, health, research, et. etc. to find funding for this decision. It is an immediate question: the state's role is to ensure education, health and other basic needs of the population is either to pay interest. I think the interest payment is not a function of the state and no theoretical or political philosopher would dare to defend this view. But you could say: The increase in interest rates is needed to ensure the economic Chamdo equilíbio ... The answer contestaondo cad item in this statement:

There is no economic theory and no empirical evidence to prove his assertion that high interest rates are one way to fight inflation. Also, how high? According to neoliberal economics Nobel Allain, the largest specialist them in interest rates, interest rates paid by the State can not be close to the rate of growth of the country, because in this case would be a simple transfer of appeal to the financial sector hindering development. These are beautiful words to describe the most violent and brazen theft of public resources. You know how much the sum spent on interest payments of the State braileiro? They simply represent about 30% of public spending. Yes, the Brazilian people pay 1 / 3 of the taxes they charge le unequally to sustain around 30,000 Brazilian citizens who live by the payment of interest on public debt absurd. Most of them refer to these foreign profits abroad forcing Brazilian brutally working to export more than they import to have a trade surplus to finance these economic adventures.
I repeat: The arguments they use to protect these high interest rates are at odds with sound economic theory (including the theory of low level neo liberal they say cultivar). It is therefore a colossal theft and they can not be declared corrupt governments while leaving almost all converted into bankers. You'll never find ma press campaign exposing this situation. You can even find a little note here or there, but never anything to stay in your memory because there is an unshakable alliance between the system communication and financial system. I will not deepen as it has proved many times that instead of fighting inflation, the high interest charged by the Brazilian government are the main source of inflation in our country. But I have only been heard by the international media or small media outlets in Brazil. At times I was on television always cut me when I walk in these matters, which is why I am not prepared to go further to say what they want. Moreover, a simple interview can not counteract short hours of lies.
You say: But Lula has maintained the autonomy of the Central Bank. Yes, it was a very high price for that limited their attacks on his government. Were close to overthrow the government during the crisis of the "monthly allowance." But Fernando Henrique was, as usual, arrogant and underestimated the enemy, "We will not overturn it. Let's just bleed him. " And the initiator of the monthly allowance that was simply the PSDB president? Not only as president but remained on top made a senate meeting in tribute to the distinguished Senator miner illustrious family .. And do you really believe that the family background or social class does not count? Lula's son is accused, and everybody knows it, having been protected by a private company, Scandal. The son of Ferdinand Henry was married with common goods, so also the owner of the National Bank who confessed to have created 2000 fake accounts (known in some greater crime than this bank? I mean, crime recognized) to benefit the Bank's shareholders who did not know (imagine it in the press ruthless with seeking to overthrow) where they came from this surplus benefits. Are billions of dollars were at stake. The government has invested several billion dollars (some say up to 14 billion in aid to the Bank chaired by the president's daughter) and ended up trading it with Unibanco and selling it for 4 billion dollars ... You know that. Everything is public and "cool." Well, what about privatization: is there any scandal in the Lula government that approaches the commissions earned in one of them? Please my dear friend: Your perception of events is too controlled by the press. The PT could be a center of corruption at the level of our system are but a mere apprentice. There is not a scandal that Lula is far closer to the minor scandal of the government of Fernando Henrique. You do not buy a technology so sophisticated in eight years.
this sense it is impressive to see how this media willing to throw everything against Dilma, honesty of what I put my right arm in September because I know very well) that the press could not lift anything against it. And the case of his secretary general, frankly, is child's play compared to what we know occur in the upper echelons of public service. The maximum charge that could be her possible cooperation with the commission or compensation of 150,000 dollars! For a brokerage that collapsed ... Frankly, Folha de Sao Paulo won the award for journalism of the year by reporting that he discovered this "tremendous" leak of the State ... And she fell to the government for failing to register their ... Frankly I do not know how anyone could have created in people's minds that it was facing the biggest scandal in the history of the country.
Do not want to defend these people who happen to be involved in shady dealings. But I never lead you by the press and public opinion is hypocritical to determine the real problems of Brazil. Luckily most of our voters do not believe in these things. They are much wiser than the so-called "opinion makers".
'll stop here because they are getting off on other issues that although not on the agenda of public opinion are much more important for the country. Thanks for your reviews and your interest. My books published in Portuguese are almost all sold out. In fact the only one who still has copies is the last on the Terror Of Hope: Height and Decline of Neoliberalism., Ideas and Literature, Aparecida, SP You'll find references to them and many articles and books that you can download on the website of the UNESCO Chair / UNU I drive: www. reggen.org.br., and of course my blog which is however very poor.

Subject: RE: Open letter to Fernando Henrique Cardoso

Theotonio Dear Professor,

Thank you for your kindness in answering my message. I visited your blog and other times he'll come back because it contains interesting articles. I searched via the Internet to find some of his books to purchase them and unfortunately did not get success. Even in bookstores could not locate them. I would be grateful if you repeatedly can direct me somewhere where I can purchase them. Your answer
contemplated my concerns about events in the field of Economics. As regards the public debt of the FHC and Lula, while agreeing that FHC has increased the debt by 15 times the price he inherited from the previous government, while Lula's government just doubled the amount received from FHC, we must not forget that value of its debt created by the two governments was very close: about 800 billion reais. Thus, in terms of increased public debt, were equivalent.
In spite of expressing my total disagreement as to its compliance to the level of corruption in the Lula government, let me make a small weighting. Availing myself of what has been published in the press during the period of the two governments on the item corruption although it has not done a statistical survey, I believe is no doubt that under Lula print newspapers and television have brought the largest number of cases public opportunity to possible acts of corruption than under Cardoso. It is noteworthy also Nutty conduct of our former president in at your government have programs with several deficiencies identified by the TCU placed under suspicion and the discontinuation of its progress recomenndada, scolding us resolve to give ministers the TCU and the need to propose of legal regulation limiting the scope of the shares of that Organ watchdog. In the opinion of the illustrious former president, and clearly said in network television, the government can not be paralyzed by a decision of TCU or the decision of a judge. If it is true, first, that the Lula government did not have corruption close to one billion dollars, it is equally true, however, that in his government had numerically more cases reported as corruption. Just remember the counter favors and release of funds when it became our Parliament before the Executive, along legislatures.
I do not think in recent 30 years of our Republic the corruption theme has become an instrument of class struggle against the dominant popular sectors who ascend to positions of power and who can not handle the mechanisms of corruption and making it easily source of scandal for small amounts often trying to imitate their antagonists of the dominant classes who manage those resources without a single colossal corruption charges. There was just the opposite. Nicknamed The capitalist elite ruled the country until 2002. Mainstream parties, at least the past 20 years, campaigned exhaustively stating that the capitalist government was corrupt and that corruption was ingrained in many government sectors. It suffices to check the number of IPCs and public complaints made by populist parties or small parties. I really believe that the entire political history Brazil is, unfortunately, fraught various acts of corruption. In 2003, for the first time in the history of Brazil, mainstream parties have elected a president. You'd think that, considering the several years that the political party of the now president and campaigned against corruption allegations, would be more than knowing all the paths and deceptions that lead to such a procedure in Brazilian politics. Even if this were not true, the new chairman of fiduciary duty and the campaign promises was to surround yourself with the best technical and administrative authorities in order to avoid the perpetuation of corruption in Brazil. Unlike that esperva, corruption spread out in all directions and affected all parties, especially the newly elected president. A pity!
Finally, do not believe that criticize or denounce acts of reprehensible people means pursuing them. We all live or should live, subject to appropriate legal sanctions applicable to each of the illegal acts that practice. This seems to be, unless error or mistake, the proper way in which should govern any society, any government wishing to live in a democratic state. Sadly, I admit, the Brazilians are still far from achieving this socio-political.

Sincerely,

Orlando Lima

WARNING: THIS IS MATTERS TO MY BLOG. UNDER THE HEADING

CLARIFICATIONS UP A LETTER TO FERNANDO HENRIQUE CARDOSO

Dear Orlando Lima

Very interesting and well founded their email and I'll answer your questions in a succinct way, recommending that you have interest in pursuing the same calling upon the my books or articles on the subject which references can be found on my blog (theotoniodossantos.blogspot.com) and the website of UNESCO-Chair of the United Nations University (UNU) that drive (www.reggen.org.br). You can also open my name in wikipedia or google for more information. Let the questions:

Between 1990 and 1994 came to a head a world inflation combined with low growth (known as stagflação) whose main source was the dollar crisis in 1971 when the U.S. abandoned the convertibility of the dollar, guaranteed by resolutions of the meeting in Bretton Woods in 1944 that established an economic order world supported the fixed value of the dollar and the pound (which came out in the 50s), the creation of an International Monetary Fund, a body set of trade (GATT) and a World Bank aimed at supporting the reconstruction of post war and for development. The abandonment of convertibility of the dollar was the beginning of an increase in world prices on oil that had its turning point in 1973 with an elevation of + / - 8 times the price of a barrel and create a fantastic financial surplus known as petrodollars. These petrodollars were "recycled" by a leading private banks in international debt colossal led by a colossal financial system that came to develop from there to here so arrazadora. If you want to know my views on these facts, I recommend it, among other works of mine, the book From Hope to Terror-Auge and Decline of Neoliberalism. Arts & Ideas, Aparecida, Brazil. Brazil, like other Third World countries and an important part of the Soviet bloc have become a large international debt, a fact that has become extremely serious in 1980 when the interest rate on these loans was increased abruptly and unilaterally (as the abandonment the convertibility of U.S. dollars) by the U.S. government. At the end of the decade showed unpayable debts if with the simple generalization of a moratorium or suspension of payments. At this time it created the Brady Plan which began trading these debts by the United States assumed that turning them into bonds issued by the United States and sold on the world market, and forgave their part to facilitate the functioning of the global economy. At present all or almost all (except I do not remember right now) reorganized its debt and eliminated the inflation factor that weighed on global economies, leading to hyperinflation. If you want to see it take a picture graph organized by ECLAC on the fall of inflation in the early 1990:

fall in inflation in Latin America - La hora de la Igualdad, ECLAC 2010, p. 54 - OK

"The fall in inflation in Latin America was widespread. Indeed, all 44 countries of the world that had hyperinflation in the 1990s wiped out the next few years. The real plan was just one of the mechanisms. "

tell by the way, I had already shown that since 1994 without any repercussion in Brazil, dominated by one party of the press that exerts an incredible monopoly on information and analysis in the country. I have been presented along with several colleagues data on inflation and deflation, especially since that time without getting the Brazilian economic science is held one minute on the subject. So it's not absurd that you have not informed about this.

Inflation rates dropped worldwide to near zero while Brazil remained near 10% annually (reaching 12.5% in 2002). I have a chart on this in my book cited. You will agree that 1% or 2% or 3% or 4% and 10% (we were one of the few countries that reached so high in the world) have a difference of 5 to 3 times more than the world average which was extremely low after 1994. The reason is simple: we took to extremes the idea that it is necessary to raise interest rates to slow inflation ... During the Cardoso government came to pay 48% interest per year. The biggest theoretical neo-liberal financial sector (the Nobel prize Alain) considers that the interest rate has to be well below the growth rate of a country because if the interest rate equals the rate of growth it overrides growth as it starts to be simply a transfer of the productive sector to the financial sector. Contrary to what "they" say, the high interest rate is a major inflationary factors in the country as well as reflect on the cost of products which includes interest paid, forcing necessarily increase the rate of profit and hence prices, pay such high interest rates by the state creates a huge public spending, inflation and useless. So much so that we pay in interest to a group of about 30,000 Brazilians a lot of interest which corresponds to 1 / 3 of all spending. You read it well: each of three real spending the Brazilian state, a real go to pay interest. And do not believe that this has nothing to do with the market as a parent who has primary surplus for several years (that is, spends less than it collects in order to have money to pay the interest ...) need not borrowed money. The justification for paying high interest rates is to reduce inflation and attract foreign capital to improve balance of payments with foreign countries ... This is pay the highest interest rates in the world to meet a bunch of useless based on economic theory contradicted by all serious theoretical economy and all economic data ...

You must agree to spend 60 to 850 is an increase of about 15 times! And an increase from 800 to 1600 is a 2-fold increase. I do not agree with the central bank's policy in the Lula government and criticized several times. But at least he managed to bring down the interest rate to less than 2 digits necessarily decrease the rate of inflation. The Central Bank of Brazil was able to commit to any challenge to economic theory, including the most reactionary raising interest rates amid a global crisis and creating a serious problem of public spending in a situation where public spending had to increase to allocate to the production. This is a reckless ... an irresponsible ....

do not agree with you that the Lula administration was the most corrupt in Brazil. Have had no cases of government corruption around one billion dollars. In previous governments these scandals abounded despite the interest of the press to hide them, how did you do it especially in the support program to break into banks, among which included the National Bank of the daughter of the President and therefore of their son since they were not married to the separation of property. I do not like to explore this theme of corruption called because he has been an instrument of class struggle against the dominant popular sectors who ascend to positions of power and who can not handle well the mechanisms of corruption easily become a source of scandal for very low amounts often trying to imitate their antagonists of the dominant classes that handle these massive resources without a single accusation of corruption. I do not get this too because I'm not chasing people like to be a basically corrupt economic system against which I struggle, as a system rather than as individual cases.

I hope I answered at least part of their concerns and many other readers. There was an economist who advised me to read non-specialized press as a contribution to my knowledge. He had no idea that I published over 40 books and hundreds of articles in 19 languages \u200b\u200band 40 countries that he, an economist, not known. Things of life and our academic environment ...

Sincerely

Subject: Open Letter to Fernando Henrique Cardoso

Dear Professor Theotônio,

this date read text with the title quoted above, as indicated by you, in response to open letter that former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso there had been addressed to President Lula.
If the text is actually of his own, much respect to the point of view there exposed, some issues have sharpened my curiosity as a citizen, which leads to the forwarding of this message and ask their help if possible, in clarifying the doubts raised.
believe that it is appropriate to clarify to him that my message contains no political interest of time, even not considering myself 'owner the truth ", quite the contrary, I believe, to the best opinion, the government of President Fernando Henrique Cardoso as the worst government in the history of Repúbllica. Unfortunately I believe that Brazil will not recover from damage caused by the Cardoso government even in the next 300 years. The the government of President Lula, for all that was published about him, and still publishes, I have been the most corrupt government since Brazil was discovered by the Portuguese.
That said, let the questions for which I would like clarification of your .
1 - You said that by 1993 the country went through a hyperinflation. Since 1994, in a rzão planetary motion all countries have lowered their inflation to below 10%. What are the economic and political reasons that led all countries in a short time, lower its inflation?
2 - You said that the Cardoso government has kept inflation the highest in the world, approximately 10%. But if all countries have also experienced an inflation rate close to 10% of Brazilian inflation was not jarring in comparison to world inflation. Is my reasoning correct?
3 - You felt bad that the Cardoso government to increase Brazil's public debt of 60 billion reais to 850 blhões reals. I am totally a novice on the economy but also consider very high value of the Brazilian public debt passed to President Lula. However, it was published, the public debt of Brazil at the end of Lula's government amounted to EUR 1 trillion and 600 billion dollars. In this aspect, the FHC and Lula were equivalent. Or not? One of the invaluable
attention that you dispense with this message, I say farewell

Sincerely,

Orlando Lima

Debate on "La izquierda y el 2012"
En auditorium filled by AMLO estudiantes y fue Recibido profesores en la de la UNAM FCPyS

In renounce al respeto a sus by PRD militants, he said. Regeneration
Journal

The leader of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), Andrés Manuel López Obrador took part on Monday 28 February at the panel discussion entitled "The Left and 2012" held at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of UNAM.

In the auditorium Ricardo Flores Magon, hundreds of students, workers and teachers gave a warm welcome to former presidential candidate of the PRD, PT and Convergencia.

In discussing the status of the left, Lopez Obrador reiterated that Mexico needs a peaceful change from the left. A question about whether express what Mexico needs first is to topple the government of Calderón, López Obrador said: "Some people tell us that there is so much poverty, authoritarianism and hunger, not wait until 2012 to carry out peaceful change , that we call people to the streets to confront the government, as in the Arab world.

think that even with the terrible situation in which we live, it is best to organize it and prepare for presidential succession is the ideal time to defeat the oligarchy in a peaceful manner. In the last pharaoh Egypt fell but now there is a military junta and do not know how it will end. We want a profound change and the only way to ensure this is with the organization of the people. If there is an organized people can not move, even if we win government. "

López Obrador said the alternative national project proposed by the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) is "an entirely new way." That means, he said, "win elections by creating a national, citizen power, popular power to defeat the oligarchy by peaceful means and establish democracy in the country with a government committed to the aspirations Mexican Village. "

Speaking of the debate that has raised its license application to the PRD, López Obrador said that "differences on the left are not tragic, it is better to clarify things. Must define the role of the left, to reassert its social and historical mission. This implies that the left respond to the question of whether it fits the current system, if it continues in the traditional politics or retrieves its origin and its task of combating inequality and corruption. Playing politics from the left is to make history, change the unjust reality, not adapting to it, "he said.

I would not quit the PRD of respect for its members, but could not validate those decisions right ally, the enemies of the Mexican people, "he said in answer to a question from a student. She further explained that the current leadership of the PRD is illegal because the National Congress of the PRD, the highest authority of the party, agreed to reject any alliance with the PRI and the PAN and "just voted to make alliances with related parties, progressive and social organizations. So the current leadership of the PRD is against what decided the highest decision making. "

participated in the debate Héctor Díaz-Polanco, Octavio Rodríguez Araujo, Rolando Cordera and José María Pérez Gay who rejected alliances with the right of the PAN and the PRI.

Héctor Díaz-Polanco said that "Mexico needs more than a political regime change, a change civilization." In his presentation said that we must go beyond the alternation of parties in power, and propose an alternative social, political and cultural. "We had a rotation with no alternative," he said.

"Pragmatism requires the means over ends, voids the past and memory. The pragmatism of the leadership of PRD wants to reissue the useful vote, 2000, all united against the PRI. AMLO does well to reject alliances with the PAN. "

According to Diaz-Polanco, the draft presented by Nation movement headed by AMLO proposes changes to the country and laying the foundations of democracy and social justice. "Alternative National Project of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) is a project of transformation, and an anti-neoliberal political and ethical project that contains the minimum changes needed."

Rolando Cordera proposed "equal to the center, the face of economic failure of neoliberalism on the right tasks are put on the table inequality and democracy. " Is needed, said "a State refounded from the left, which should provide social and personal protection, a new welfare state."

For its part, Octavio Rodríguez Araujo said that unlike the right which seeks to perpetuate the status quo, the Left fight against inequality and authoritarianism. "We must reestablish the PRD, a left only organized and clear in their view of social change can prevent bipartisanship as exists in the United States, where the left is marginal."

At the dawn of 2011 overwhelmed the contrast between France and Venezuela. CEVIPOF, research laboratory linked to the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), indicates that only 38% of French people still rely on its members and that 57% believe that democracy does not work good "or" no work at all ", 39% expressed" distrust "23%" gross "and 12%" boredom "in relation to politics (1).

At the same time the independent Chilean NGO Latinobarómetro Venezuela ranks as one of Latin America where more people trust in democracy (84% of (a) s citizens (a) s). The researchers attribute this record of confidence in the practical effect of social and economic policy expected by the population (2).

Two polls in January 2011 among which the Datanalisis - Company close to the opposition - showed that the popularity of President Hugo Chávez is located between 50 and 54%. This is due inter alia to the energetic measures for the victims of the catastrophic floods in recent months and real estate scams and increased social spending. To Latinobarometro "is paradoxical that it is in Venezuela, where more people believe in democracy and is at the same time the most criticized country in the state of their democracy."

perfect example of this "paradox" is the text published by the French newspaper "Le Monde" on February 2, 2011 under the title "A parliament useless" (3). Its author, Jean-Pierre Langellier, no research in Venezuela but merely to translate from outside the headlines right-wing majority in this country. As a preface the author expresses emotion empathy with a minority that the media essentially recruit middle and upper class. These pots fifteen minutes of "noisy", the "echo multiplied from tower to tower," this "scandal", the "noise" that seem to excite Mr. Langellier sometimes from CD in which the vessels are in pre loop real pots and sometimes a Stoic is used to knock on the window following instructions from their employers, before saving your uniform and go home in the neighborhood where 80% of the population of Venezuela received the news by Globovision, failing to read "Le Monde" that the country "said masse to demand the departure of the dictator. " The procedure is obvious: Mr. Langellier try to install the head of his readers, instead of the real Venezuela, a "virtual Egypt."

According to him, "in September 2010, the president did not prevent the victory of their opponents who gathered almost 53% of the vote. A "charcuteo" prior constituencies held his progress. " Is false. The results of the National Electoral Council were validated as provided by all international observers.

The "charcuteo" denouncing Mr. Langellier, is the electoral law adopted by the National Assembly and accepted by all parties before measuring in the race. Of the total of 165 seats in the PSUV achieved 98, against 65 for the heterogeneous coordination of the opposition. With its mix of majority voting and proportional electoral law is perfectible. In the populous state of Zulia she created a sub-representation of the Bolivarian camp, despite reaching 44.4% of the vote, won only two of the twelve elected members.

Mr. Langellier take their wishes into reality when he states, as well as the English newspaper "El País" and almost all major media, the opposition defeated the government with 52% of the vote. This lie is right to take over the votes of smaller parties and independents who do not identify with it. Official figures show that internationally validated the Bolivarian candidates gathered 5,399,574 votes to 5,312,293 for the opposition, or about 46.23% against 45.48% of the vote. (4)

This short of the revolutionary victory in an election term expresses a mixture of impatience discontent and justified by some failures and slow changes. And while the popular sectors' access to polling stations were improved (sectors, to repeat, make up 80% of the population) are some efforts to make up who enjoy the same comforts enjoyed logistical middle class.

Secretary of the OAS (Organization of American States) José Miguel Insulza, more identified with the thesis of Washington than with those of Caracas, admitted on February 5, 2011 that "elections have taken place in recent years in Venezuela have been perfectly normal and we do not see why it would not be the case for the next "(5)

For the fact that Venezuela has provided, as does any democracy, a legal responsibility to those who are called to kill or banging through a medium, Mr. Langellier claims that "radio, television and the Internet are more strictly controlled."

is false. Journalism professor Arahonian Aram, director of the magazine "Question" and the intellectual Venezuelan Luis Britto García recall that in 2011 the opposition has 90% of power communication, from where launches derogatory epithets against the majority of the Venezuelan people - Such as "monkeys", "scum", "hordes", "toothless" and other adjectives of ethnic and social discrimination (6) as well as repeated calls to launch coup against a democratically elected president, as did the chief employers in December 2010 (7).

A study on the Venezuelan television (most influential medium in the country) by the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR, for its acronym in English) based in Washington, shows that in 2010 public television did not reach but 5.4% of the audience when private channels reached 94.5% (neutral in the case of the less politicized, radically opposed to the government of Hugo Chávez mostly) (8). The proportion is roughly the same in terms of radio and print media.

Argentine government recently enacted legislation to democratize the "estates" media. This distributes the radio-electric spectrum more evenly: 33% of the airwaves for the public sector, 33% for the community sector and 33% for the commercial sector. Then the big economic groups own the media campaigned against the "dictatorship."

"Internet censorship in Venezuela" is one of the favorite themes of the global campaign of these large groups against the Bolivarian revolution. However, even an opponent like Federico Ravell, a former director and partner of Globovisión (channel which Mr. Langellier falsely announced the imminent closure in 2009 (9)) and current manager of a news website, said in January: "So time, in all honesty, I must say that we have been thwarted "(10). La Compania Anonima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela (CANTV), after its nationalization in 2007, has helped to democratize the services offered to Venezuelans, thus achieving an increase in Internet penetration in Venezuela of 3% in 1999 to 33% in 2010, representing an increase of almost 1,100%. In January 2011 UNESCO Prize awarded to Venezuela for creating a national network that connects and empowers Infocentros free to hundreds of thousands of citizens (a) s far excluded (a) s of the mass of information technologies (11 .) The Bolivarian government has imposed the use of FOSS in all government. One of the "gurus" of the free software community - Richard M. Stallmann - recommends consider Venezuela's progress in this sector (12). Twitter has come for all political sectors. The account of Hugo Chávez has surpassed one million readers / partners. The president can see firsthand the implementation, problems, or delays in the various social programs. (13)

ultimate irony, the only censorship against Internet was carried out from abroad for a few "Anonymous hackers" who blocked several pages of the Venezuelan State on behalf of "the fight against Chavez Internet enemy "Evidence that the global campaign of disinformation to achieve its goals!

In 2008 Mr. Langellier denounced the education law because it mentioned a critical training on the role of the media, which as he prepared "censorship of the press" (sic). Two years later nothing has happened, to the point that the opposition also campaigned on this issue, and not mention it. (14)

The "journalism" Mr. Langellier works well over the years: a medley of ad effects borrowed from the Venezuelan right-wing media, not entitled to up to readers.

"All the committees are under the control of power." Is false. Most commissions are allocated, in good democracy, the elected majority. But many artists feel concern about the appointment at the head of the culture committee of Miguel Angel Rodriguez, a pugnacious promoter of RCTV (15) - right channel which Mr. Langellier also falsely announced the closure in 2009 (16)). Rodriguez defends the return to a culture more "classical", or a little less popular participation.

Mr. Langellier said that the transmission of parliamentary debates is controlled by the power which can thus eliminate "those who disturb." Is false. On Tuesday February 8, 2011 at (a) s Venezuelan (a) s attended the live broadcast on all channels and a passionate debate. For nearly eight hours opposition MPs questioned and criticized, sometimes quite violently, Bolivarian ministers.

This session of questions and answers continued in the next few days with (a) s other member (a) s the government.

Irony of history: many of these opposition MPs were the actors in the bloody coup of April 2002 against the elected president to replace the head of the business chamber. They applauded at the time the coup decree dissolving the National Assembly. The first opposition MP questioned the government, Enrique Mendoza, who was ordered to close VTV the only public channel. Is this the same channel that conveys fully his word today, live, the entire population ...

Mr. Langellier hides the fact that the various republican institutions he describes as "Chavez" - as the Supreme Court or committees, from the legitimate decisions of an assembly elected by universal suffrage.

Because an "enabling law" approved by the deputies on the basis of the constitution to allow the president to legislate and take emergency measures for thousands of victims of catastrophic floods, Mr. Langellier seeks to convince the reader (as do all major media) that "the parliament and is useless." Is false. The parliament continues by discussing and passing laws side as usual. Venezuela never saw so much excitement of popular initiative law. Unions, peasant movements, feminist groups, victims of property scams, networks of tenants, caretakers of people: the echo bills in Congress. Citizen organizations march, debate, criticizing the existing or proposed new laws on the street, in the media, in meetings with the deputies or the president. Employment Rights Act, Act against impunity for the victims of disappearances or the torture of "democracies" prior to the election of Chavez, Law debatitida higher education throughout the country, etc. .. From 19 to 20 February almost 29,000 signatures were collected in the streets of Caracas in support of the Leasing Act will be delivered on 2 March at the Assembly. This just created a reception center for all these initiatives.

All laws that Mr. Langellier and the Venezuelan right dubbed as "Cuban package" and accusing them of "strengthening state control over society and the economy are, however, a powerful engine democratization of the system. The law of communal power, adopted by the Assembly in 2010, deepening participatory democracy. This law - which the opposition wants to delete - allows communities and community councils to make, supervise and finance public works that directly benefit the people. Over 40,000 of these community councils are already emerging as a tool but effective popular participation.

"The opposition says these laws removed the governor and mayor and is false, placed in a dynamic unit of real management. Now a governor instead of being aware of a gap and can not solve it by many problems, these communities will respond immediately within their own field, "said Ulises Daal, one of the deputies who defended the law (17).

The Bank of Communications is responsible for economic and financial organization of social character that manages, administers, transfers, financing, facilitates, captures and controls the resources. "As the country has a Central Bank and financial institutions, communities must have a bank of the communes. The people have power if you have the resources to the implementation of the projects, "Daal said. Since 2008 the transfer of state to those citizens' organizations reached ten billion dollars (18).

The new rules of the Assembly that Mr. Langellier complaint as "straitjacket" in response to a long-standing demand of Members: sufficient time to tour the constituency to meet the people and their problems. It is therefore to strengthen the mandate for which they were elected.

Political democracy, very good, but social justice? Remember, as Mr. Langellier not ever tell your readers that the UN, UNESCO, ECLAC, UNDP and FAO confirmed in their recent public reports that Venezuela has achieved significant poverty reduction has been promoting and food sovereignty health and public education, free for all, and that in twelve years of revolution has become one of the most egalitarian countries in the region (19).

final Lies Mr. Langellier takes the local right-wing campaigns on "the financial waste of the presidency." Cynically concludes: "The end of the revolution is priceless."

Unlike other presidents who gave lavish parties, the ministry's office of the presidency have foundations that give grace pensions to older adults they never contributed to social security, assistance to the sick heart operations or others whose operations are moved from the hundreds of millions and are not intended to afford an operation in countries like the U.S., providing aid to people in need. Like the rest of the state president of the republic has reduced domestic spending and just moved some of its services to receive, house, feed and support the reintegration of family socio victims of flooding in December 2010.

Maybe the disgust of the French policy comes from this grave misunderstanding of the world fueled by media exchange traded. One morning, the alarm sounds, some people emerge from silence, and no understood. As Tunisia and Egypt, Venezuela was also a postcard. In 1989 when his people protested against the IMF neoliberal measures were massacred at the direction of social democratic President Carlos Andres Perez. Some young officers "Nasserists" - including a Hugo Chávez of this, angered by the crackdown, decided to rebel at the thought of a name of Simon Bolivar as: 'Cursed be the soldier to return the weapons against his people. ALAI AMLATINA, Los 24/02/2011.- holders of press la global y palabras derrochan exclamaciones to highlight overthrow el gobierno de los EEUU Favorable to Egypt y Túnez. También if refieren a la represión en Manifestación against Libya. " Also, show pictures of the "Bahraini protesters." (A U.S. senator was covered in his toga and proclaimed that the U.S. should "review its policy of military aid to the emirate V Fleet headquarters in that country?) Moreover," the president of Yemen vows not to resign despite people killed in demonstrations, protests spread in Morocco and President Bashir of Sudan will not run for another presidential term. "

Amid this spectacular broadcast of the "revolution" of the Arab peoples, has appeared another source of protests and demonstrations. However, the media have been very frugal and careful in giving details about the protagonists. This is U.S. workers in different settings, cities and production centers have begun to rebel. The U.S. economic crisis has beaten its own workers, who have become unemployed (10 per cent of the workforce) and homeless (3 million families have lost their homes). The protests and demonstrations in the U.S. states of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio are raising concerns among politicians and analysts nortemaericanos. There are industrial estates that have been hit by the economic crisis in a special way. Overproduction (in other words, under-consumption) of the economy U.S. is creating serious doubts about the ability of that country to emerge from recession in the medium term, much less in the short term.

In Wisconsin, 80,000 people gathered in front of the capitol city of Madison to defend the collective bargaining rights of workers. Held on Saturday the fifth straight day of protest to protest a bill introduced by Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who seeks to abolish collective agreements, trade union rights and increase wage deductions for reasons of insurance and pension funds. (Wisconsin is a state at the north end of the U.S.).

Gov. Walker, elected last year, aims to cut wages and eliminate collective bargaining rights of public employees. Democratic senators, state representatives who left the state to halt the vote on the bill, sent a letter Friday to Gov. Walker saying that workers accept cuts in pensions and greater contributions to health plans and retirement if he agreed to address the issue of collective bargaining. The cuts proposed by Walker would be left without benefits or ability to negotiate thousands of public workers such as teachers, police and firefighters.

The protests started last Tuesday, February 15 and have continued to strengthen, with the decision of thousands of workers who do not cease to fight against what they see as a "vast Republican plan to weaken the workers." Senate Democrats, who oppose the proposal, reiterated their rejection of the project. One of his most notable was physically leave the state to avoid a vote on the project.

So far the response by the authorities is to carry out the project stating that the protests will not give up. According to Walker, the union law intended to reduce the deficit State through cuts in wages, pensions, health benefits and collective bargaining rights. Despite the maneuvers of the Republican governor of the state teachers are on strike until you withdraw the bill. Demonstrations have spread to neighboring cities like Milwaukee and other states with Republican governors, including Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

Professor of Linguistics Massashusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Noam Chomsky, argues that the current unrest in the U.S. is because workers have become aware that "the jobs will not return." This is because "the policy is to export jobs to countries where labor is cheaper. "The reason is simple, it is more profitable to invest in financial speculation in economic production.

The Arab world has something in common with the U.S.: Their economies have collapsed and dominant classes are bankrupt. If the U.S. increases the risks to the extent that their leaders are playing roulette with the economy. The social and political starting to peek over the horizon.'s rebellion is a sign Wisconsin .
